What this site does

PointlessClick.com provides a red-button interaction, a life-wasted estimate and a certificate generator. You can use these features without creating an account.

Button presses and statistics

Accepted button presses are stored with a server-generated timestamp and a salted hash of the requesting network address for rate limiting. The hash is not a plain IP address. Genuine time-period totals are calculated from stored records. Your personal button total stays in this browser's local storage and isn't stored as a personal account or profile.

Calculator and certificates

Life-calculator entries and results are calculated in your browser. The calculator does not send your age or detailed daily activity entries to our server. Certificate names and design choices stay in your browser unless you explicitly choose a public share option.

Public share links

Nothing is published simply by previewing or downloading a result. When you explicitly publish a share through the sharing panel, the site stores the share category, the information and 1200 × 630 PNG needed to render the result page and preview, a random share ID, timestamps, and a hash of a private revocation token. The token itself is kept in local storage on the device that created the share so that device can manage it.

A certificate share stores and displays the name you entered, the achievement and certificate design. An achievement share stores the personal click total and milestone title. A score share stores the score and rank title. A calculator share stores its rounded result and selected activity only; it does not include your age or detailed activity entries.

Share links are public to anyone who obtains the unguessable URL, and can be reshared. Social networks may retain cached copies of a preview. Links stop working after 365 days or when revoked. Revoking a link from the sharing panel marks it inactive and makes our public page and image routes return unavailable; it does not immediately erase the stored database row or image. The sharing panel provides both revocation and a separate permanent deletion option. Revocation marks the link unavailable but retains its row and image so it can be restored. Permanent deletion removes the database row and image; it cannot be undone. Expired records are not automatically deleted, so use the permanent delete action to remove stored share data.

There is no public directory of shares. The stored information is used to render and administer the link you chose to publish.

Optional analytics

Optional PostHog analytics are only loaded after you select “Allow analytics” in the consent prompt. If enabled, PostHog may receive page and interaction events, device/browser information and an online identifier under its own privacy terms. Selecting “Only necessary” keeps this optional analytics script off. Your consent choice is kept in local storage; clear the site's stored data to reset it. The consent banner is only shown when analytics is configured.

Advertising

The Google AdSense loader is included on the site. Whether ads are actually served depends on Google's review and the ad placements. If Google serves ads, Google may use cookies or similar technologies and process information such as your IP address, browser and device data, and interactions with ads under its own privacy terms. The site currently has no Google-certified advertising consent-management prompt, so this setup is not yet suitable for serving personalised ads in consent-required regions. Before ads are activated, configure a Google-certified consent-management platform and update this policy to match Google's actual data processing and your consent setup.

Storage and control

Local storage is used for your personal click total, calculator completion and score progress, analytics consent where enabled, and the list of public share links and revocation tokens created on this device. Clearing browser site data removes this local list; if you clear it before revoking a share, contact us with the share URL to request help. You can decline optional analytics by selecting “Only necessary” when the consent prompt is shown. Browser storage and downloaded or copied files are under your control.
